Sorry to ask another truck question on here, but I gotta finish his truck before we can start his Camaro. Anyway the truck sight I joined just seems to have little to no activities at times. The question is about the torque fior the rear end bearing caps. It is a 14 bolt semi-floating axle 9.5 inch ring gear unit. I am upgrading it from his 10 bolt and then torque I can find is 135lb which seem really high yo me, most of the references are for the 10.5 ring gear full floating units. I did find one listing for 63lbs for the 9.5 but that almost seems low. Does anyone knwo for sure?

What year, make, model, and GVW did the truck rear axle come from?

91 Chevy 3/4 ton 4X4 short cab long bed. Don't know the exact GVW but I would quess 7000ish

Mitchell's Repair On Demand lists 9 1/2" ring gear side carrier bearing caps at 60 ft.lbs. for a 91 Chevy K2500. All of Mitchell's specs are directly from GM. Hope this helps.

Thank you, having access to such info is very important. I just knew 135 was way too high and I didn't want to snap a cap bolt.

Well its done and queit. The brakes are trying to put him through the windsheild since they are 13 inch. Kinda funny.
