I am looking on ebay and I auctions listing steering columns from GM pick up trucks and and claiming they will fit 69 Camaro as well. Is this correct? What year GM truck will fit? I know Nova is interchangeable. I believe second gen (and fourth gen) Camaros/Firebirds will fit in a 69 Camaro with some minor modifications. Since we all know the chances of finding a 69 Camaro in a junkyard is about as likely as finding lips on a chicken...what other vehicles can will work as a donor for a steering column?
So, for the experts out there, what other vehicles/years will fit a 69 Camaro and what mods need to be done, if any in order to make them fit.
Thanks.

70-81 Camaro steering column would fit with no mods IIRC. Find them on Ebay all the time for $200-300

Doesn't 68 - 72 Nova's fit also? Seems to me IIRC they are a direct bolt in.

What is a 69 steering column worth? I have an extra one I was thinking about selling

Other columns will fit but typically the lever at the base for the backdrive link is different.

I bought a tilt column some years from a guy whose company name was GM Tilt. The inside parts looked different but exterior and connections were exact. I installed it and plugged in the wiring, the connector matched, but the wiring was wrong. Turn signals were crossed up with something else. I called him and he new exactly which wires to move. During this I asked where he found enough colunms to run a business and he said he got the colunms from Novas, Venturas, and Oldsmobile Omegas. He said mine was an Oldsmobile unit because of the wiring difference but you would never know by looking. I still have the non tilt original if someone needs one.
