Title: Correct Horns for a 68 RS
Post by: cadmanof50s on December 23, 2010, 05:10:35 PM
I'm really confused about the horns on my '68 RS.

First of all, the horns that came with my car don't look like the ones covered in the assembly manual. (They look more like the ones for a 69).
The assembly manuals has one diagram that shows the horns mounted next to the head light assembly...I assume that this is for Standard Grill cars.
Another Diagram  U03 A1 shows a number of horns.  Some in the center, some on the sides.....Very confusing.

My wiring harness has a black wire that allows the horns to be mounted in the center on the rad center support.

I purchased a set of   correct reporduction horns, but they both have short brackets (unlike mine).

Thouroghly confused. (Attached are pics of teh horns that camw with my car).

What is correct for my car...'68 RS (Convertible).

Does anyone have a picture of the correct set up?

Thanks!

Youi didn't look in the right section of the AIM! Check out UPC Z22, sheet A13 for the correct placement (which appears to be correct from your pictures).

Oh man! Why didn't I see this?
Thank you, Ed.
That solves everything: In the RS they simply took the standard production horns and relocated them on the two rad cradle center supports.

Thanks again. Ed.
