Title: 68 Header Panel Hardware
Post by: jeff68 on December 04, 2010, 01:44:30 PM
The front header panel is attached to the fender on each side with 2 bolts with nuts.  I have the original bolts, but I do not have the nuts bagged & tagged with them.  Does anyone know the correct nuts?  Are they flanged?  Sorry, my AIM is at the shop and I wanted to try to find the nuts in my pile of hardware.  Thanks.

Jeff,

The AIM shows just a standard nut # 9417954.

68 AIM 11-13 A5 shows it as #9417954. AMK shows B-12782 ( 5/16-18 GR5 1/2AF .27TH ) to be their replacement.
This may not be a spot on replacement but the description may help you find your correct one.
The same nut is used on the driver side fender well  seal bracket ( 68 AIM 11-13 B2 #9 used for small seal between fender well and body).
Hope this helps.

Thanks.  Does the AIM show a lock washer?
