Title: Thin Chrome Stripe
Post by: basecoupe#79 on October 29, 2005, 08:54:10 PM
Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on how to fix that thin chrome stripe that surrounds the A/C heater controller on a 69?  There are other small areas worn, such as around the left side Vent.  I was thinking of using some Chrome Spray, and spraying a bit inside of a clean cup and using a thin paint brush to paint the stripe.....Any other ideas ???

Most hobby shops that sell models have a chrome foil that is used for detailed chrome on those models...I used it on my 69 drop top and it work very well...oh yea, you'll need an exacto knife for the trimming part.

You can use chrome pin stripe tape and trim it to fit. Most auto paint can get it for you.

How well does this work on curved pieces, like the speedo and tach surrounds on the dash trim?  I'm looking at a used assembly complete with 5500RPM tach - really nice shape but it has some scuffs on the chrome trim
