Title: 67 camaro rearend mounting
Post by: SSMUNDY on November 17, 2010, 07:05:21 PM
I was wondering if there were any washers used in mounting the rearend on a 67 Camaro. The AIM doesnt seam to show a washer being used between the T-bolt nut, and the lower shock mounting plate. It seams as though they would have, but the illustation doesn't seam to show any.
Thanks,
Sean

If the AIM doesn't list it, then it wasn't used. There is no requirement for a washer if the T-bolt is unable to rotate and the nut's bearing surface against the anchor place is good.
Lower control arms pivot bolts, for example, use no washers under the lock nuts..
All parts used are in the list on the top of the AIM's page.

No washer is listed/used in 68 or 69 AIM either.  ;)

yeah that's what I thought. GM didn't use washes in a lot of places you'd expect. If they're using a lock nut it would negate the need for a washed as well.
