Title: 69 Z28 Factory Oil Pan Numbers?
Post by: rally on November 12, 2010, 09:21:39 PM
I have a factory 69 Z28 oil pan i am going to use. I found these numbers stamped near the front of the pan and read #0405. Anybody know what these numbers stand for? Was the Z pan stamped ever? The timing chain cover has the date code stamped in the middle front section so i was wondering about the oil pan?

My next project on the list is to identify the oil pans and the timing covers.. Would'ja happen to have a pic of both the timing cover and the oil pan to make it easier on the old eyes??  After many coats of can paint, a bit murky, eh...
Thanks!
T.

As you might expect, we've discussed this before. Pretty complete research on the part numbers and the history.

There is another thread imbedded in this one, has further descriptions and pics -
