Title: Correct Window Molding clips
Post by: MyRed67 on November 03, 2010, 07:31:40 PM
I have an early build (11A - 66) '67 Coupe no Vinyl Roof.  I am trying to find out what are the "correct" Windshield side and upper molding clips.  Also "correct" Rear Window molding clips.  Anybody have part #'s ?   I'm seeing different ones offered, and they don't coorespond with what is on the car.  Maybe they have been changed.

Front windshield clips are RED Oxide, rear are either a"Gun Metal" Color or Black any of the parts houses have them .Yours were probably changed at some point or the originals rusted away and were change with what ever was available

Yes, make sure that you check that ALL MOUNTING PINS are in tact, if not have the WELD in type installed. I would not recommend the screw in type replacement as they will fail. The weld in type are easy to install check with your local body shop they should have a Stud/Dent puller   Welding gun that can weld them in no time. the studs  usually come with this tool  and are forgotten about as they are not used as much on Modern cars anymore. There should a BAG of them in the case that the tool comes in Very SMALL  Pin studs.

Hi,

Would an 11C '68 use these in the rear?

Thanks.

Thanks, Daniel.

The ones that are currently on there are the ones like the upper windshield clips that have the side to side slot (first pic in thread above).  I broke out a package of rear clips that I bought years ago since a few of the ones on the car were broken.  They didn't match, of course...  I figured I yet again had bought something before the "correct" ones were available.  Now, I know.

Thanks again!

There is a discussion on the Nova Research Group regarding the different clips.

Here are my originals...
