WARNING...IF YOU DO NOT LIKE PICS THIS THREAD ISN'T FOR YOU.
I met a man on this site that asked if I could post detailed pics of my engine bay. When I first heard this I was very hesitant until I got to know him a little better. You see, Daniel isn't in the best of health. I'm hoping we can all pitch in to lend a hand.
The reason these pics are here and not sent through email is because I do not want to give him misleading information. My hope is that those of you weighing in will give constructive views and provide pics or AIM references to support any misleading information with regards to the pics. If some parts are missing or skewed let us know.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks Jim.
I just communicated with Daniel and he isn't doing well. My hope is that you have many more good days than bad! Most importantly, we are all rooting for you to beat this thing!
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
PS; Now get off your duff and finish your project ;).

Nice pics Marty. You asked for any input with AIM references and pictures. These are pics of my detent cable and brackets. Check page 365 UPC M38 sheet A9 of the 1969 Assembly Manual. I am fairly certain mine are original to the car. :)

Boston14...Exactly what I was hoping for when I started this thread! Great pics and AIM detail. More importantly, I think this is what Daniel was hoping for.
Brace yourself though...everyone who displays pics, including me, is a Ginny Pig for Daniels project. Hopefully we will have seasoned members weighing in on accuracy.
Thanks again for your time and effort.
By the way, what type of digital camera are you using?
Note; Should have mentioned this earlier...Daniels car is a '69 X55 L48

Old pic of Daniel loading his '69 SS onto a trailer to begin restoration...

My car, which I bought from the original owner back in 1975 is an 11D build so it has no X codes. The camera I used for those pictures is a Nikon CoolPix 8700.

According to AIM, M38...A8,A9 & A10, the Trans-Detent Cable is the same for both the L-6 & the V8. The only difference is the site/ location of the mounting clip. As for the pics of your cable, its spot-on.

My car is a 12A build w/o X Codes as well. Not really sure why that is but KurtS gives a detailed explanation on the main page. You can find it under Numbers Decode; #9 (1969 Cowl Tag-X Codes).
Not really sure how you post links off of the main pg?

I've been red-flagged...does anyone have a pic of a QJet with the correct Vacuum Advance Hose/Line?
-
Error...wrong site...sorry :-[
KurtS doesn't have a bail format for PC dummies...
-
Just received a few pics from Daniel...They show the car in its current stage. Hope you can make them out.
He started his project on June 6, 2010
Thanks Dan
