Title: Do a good deed for a car guy
Post by: mopar346 on October 16, 2010, 04:06:34 AM
I thought the crew here might take the time as well.

Thanks, Kevin

Well many of you met one of our members JL Collector AKA John Kozak at Carlisle this year. His is the guy who had the 67 green 4 speed Fury on stage all weekend. If you spoke to him you heard his story of loosing his girlfriend just 30 days prior to cancer and you would have also known he too was battling cancer. Johns story also played a role in the wonderful outpouring of effort for Eli and his Dart Charger. You can read Johns story in the latest edition of Mopar Collectors Guide and see photos of the car.

Well its getting further along in his illness and he is constantly battling pain brought on by the disease which never seems to be lessened by the drugs they give him. In an effort to show him how great the Mopar community really is I have one simple request. Just drop him a card with a photo of your car (or any car) It only takes a minute and less than .50 cents to mail one out to say your message. Just show him that a fellow Mopar enthusiast can take 5 minutes to say "hey."

John loves cars and always has since his grandfather first bought him a King Midget when he was just a tike. So seeing some cars is always a treat even the weird ones.

We all don't know how long we have on this earth and just brightening a fellow car nuts day is the least we can do. I would like to personally thank All the wonderful crew at Carlisle Events that made Johns weekend his "Make a wish." All of his friends back in SC that put his car back together and donated their time, money and parts, and to Rob Wolfe for doing the article in MCG, and many others including Moparts members whom I have forgotten to mention but your kindness is not forgotten.

Johns 67 Fury is still for sale and 100% of the money collected will go to families dealing with cancer so if you know someone who is interested let them know of the car. It would be great to get it brought to Barrett-Jackson or to partner with one of the Mopar businesses or magazines.

Send photos of you car or whatever else you care to send to:
