Title: blacked out tailpan on SS model

was the blacked out tailpan on just big block SS's or on the small blocks also? dont recall seeing a small block SS with blacked out tailpan, but thought i'd ask on here, as some of you are def the experts

What about if your car is gloss black?
Is it still "blacked out"?

Original black cars didnt get the semi gloss tail panel treatement from my understanding.

Ah, but a member of this forum has an original paint black car and you can see the paintline for the black tailpanel.

Ah, but was it gloss body color or semi gloss?
I assume semi gloss, otherwise why the paintline.
If that's true, then that car would seem to be an 'odd one out'
