Anybody know if Chevy stamped a part number on there 69 Z28 Factory Driveshaft. I understand they paint coded rings on the shaft. I have one i think, but is there any numbers stamped anywhere on the driveshaft, thank you.

I've never seen numbers stamped on a driveshaft; painted rings were the Chevrolet method of identifying driveshafts. They arrived at the assembly plant as a complete assembly, ready to install, with the front yoke and rear U-joint.

Have the paint rings ever been deciphered?

Not a stamped number, but a cast number on the driveshaft of my '69 SS 350/300

That's the forging number for the yoke.
