Title: 69 Yutivo....rough
Post by: Claus on October 03, 2010, 09:24:53 AM
A friend of mine recently found this 69 Yutivo.
It is in a rough state, but looks to be very original and unmolested - if you can call a rustbucket that.

Paint 904, its blue, maybe lemans blue, dont know for sure.
Trim 715, Dark blue standard bucket seats, which is odd because it clearly has deluxe seats as all Yutivos, misstamp perhaps?
This is the first 715 interior Yutivo I have come accross.

Its a 19K, so thats another batch - if I remember right. Kurt will know.
Org. engine with Yutivo stamp, sorry didn't get the best photo.

Still in the islands?
Yes still in the PI's. At the body shop.
No hidden VINS on this one as well, as usual with Yutivos

Nice complete car. Not very common from what I've seen! Yes, that's a first for blue exterior and interior.

What color were the firewalls painted?
I see they didn't paint the dash beside the clock blue.
If you get any drivetrain codes, that would be great!

Thanks!

Few more pictures showing paint. Its either Lemans or Glacier blue.
What is your take on the 715 Trim code standard buckets?

Will get drive train codes at my next visit.
Do you want me to email any of above pics in high resolution, e.g. trim tag?

I think they knew what they meant with the blue interior. :)
No headrests either. No seatbelts, but there's a bolt in the floor?
What's the vent in the dash were the heater controls go? For the added AC?
Power steering?
I thought Lemans, but that fender pic looks like Glacier.

Yes on the tag pic.
Thanks! You're the Yutivo man!!

Yes the vent added for the AC, some say Yutivos could be had with dealer added AC, I tend to believe that.

The missing headrest seem to be on all 69 Yutivos.
Word is Yutivos came without seatbelts, but all the holes are there for the belts, and this clearly has bolts on both passenger and driver side - will check when I get back.
No PS.

Also not the first time they used a standard interior trim code on a deluxe interior, see below with trim 711. Yes I know seats have been swapped, but clearly deluxe door panels:

First time I have seen these rivets, original perhaps?

Here is the transmission

K8K9: McKinnon 3 Speed dated July 9th 1968, this is the exact same stamp as the transmission in the 019A car.

The transmission is dated way before the engine, Kurt any thoughts?

Great info!
Interesting. 67 Yutivo drivetrains were sourced from the US. 69's came from Canada.

The car components (including drivetrain) were collected at a main distribution point. I imagine some parts could sit in the warehouse for a while before they went out in an order.

BE is a L22 engine, by the way.  Any axle info?

Thanks!!
