Title: 18N348165 Powerglide
Post by: Petes L48 on September 08, 2010, 02:54:58 PM
I found this stamp on the Powerglide in my 67.  A little scraped up but I believe these are the correct numbers.  Knew I had the wrong tranny, didn't know it was a 68 Camaro unit until I recently pulled it for minor rebuild.  Passenger side pan stamp is T8S02D.

Update -  I looked closer at the stamp today and realized the pad has been evenly filed or ground down at some point, and the font looks a little small, so it was restamped at some point.  This unit has been in my 67 since mid 1980s when I bought it, so I doubt the work of counterfeiters.  I think the partial matches up with the pan date-wise, so possibly it was restamped at the factory?  Don't know if anyone would bother stamping a rebuild.  Anyway, just wanted to point this out in case this info goes into a database. Maybe needs an asterisk and a footnote.
