Title: Radiator fan paint - type and finish
Post by: My68SS on July 27, 2010, 04:08:22 PM
Sorry if this has been answered somewhere already, but can anyone tell me the type of paint [enamel?] that was used on the radiator fan.
Also, was the finish flat or satin?

The fan blade was flow-coat primed (semi-gloss primer) just like inner fenders, bumper brackets, engine brackets, etc. The only enamel on the car was on the outer face of steel wheels.

Cheers John, so the fan and pulleys etc. were hot phosphated then blacked, same as sheet metal?

Yes. All the raw metal parts went through the same prime system.
