Hi Guys; I'm looking at two 68 302's one has a VIN of 18L397887 and assembly date of 0404 and the other is 18N412897 and a 0329 assembly date. My question is, are these both 'in-sync' with their numbers? The LA build has a older VIN and a later assembly date over the NOR motor which has a newer VIN with an eariler assembly date. I'm looking for a replacement motor for my 68 Z/28 (no motor in car when I bought it, VIN 423105 04A).

My Vin is lower by 50,000 (Los) and my assembly date is 0506.

That first one is actually 8L337887.
Both are fine datewise.
Are you sure on the VIN and builddate of your car?

KurtS..........Sorry, VIN is 413105 04A.
68Zproject......That's hard to believe, what's your VIN?

It's about 50,000 less than the one you posted. It's nothing personal, but i won't reveal the vin here, too many scammers and my engine might show up some day, restamped. And according to Kurt, that was a typo on your first vin? It's a few thousand more than the vin that Kurt said.

I failed to post that my VIN is a Norwood build 8N413105
