Title: Early 67 L48 engine details
Post by: Petes L48 on April 28, 2010, 04:46:26 PM
Newbie here, please excuse if these have appeared earlier.  Car is RS/SS conv w/ air, 11/11/66 LOS build date

For the script chrome valve covers, on which side does the one with two wire tabs go, and what do the tabs hold?  I don't see this detail in the AIM.

Oil filler tube, chrome or black?  Car is closed element if that matters.  I have a NOS Z28 3889316 tube bought several years ago, but AIM lists a different part #.  Seems like the repop suppliers are pushing  chrome Z28 version as a correct tube.

For the crankcase vent tube, the AIM shows hose 3883966 and a tower clamp used to connect the tube to the air cleaner bottom tube.  Is this available anywhere, or is their a suitable alternative?

Lastly, did the Powerglide use a 14in 168 tooth or 12.75in 153 tooth flexplate?  My car is in storage a couple states away and I wanted to order a new one in advance for replacement during an engine swap.  Never had it apart before.

Thanks

It goes on the driver's side and the tabs are for the temp. sender  wire .

Been awhile since I've done anything on the car, forgot about that one.  Thanks.
