I have just noticed that my early 67 six cylinder car has no front sway bar fitted. From what I can see of the bounting bracket holes in the subframe have never had a bolt fitted to them. Is this a common thing?
Thanks

I thought that all Camaro's came from the factory with a front swaybar...
but I'm no expert... still learning.
The real experts will chime in.

Yes, I have noticed this before. I assume that your car is an L22 by your user name?
-
My 67 convertible 250 6cyl came with factory sway bar
-
Chuck's real early 08D L22 (250) also doesn't have a sway bar.
What's the build dates of your cars?
-
build date for my 250 is 04A has factory sway bar.
-
My car is 02A and is a LA built car. I have since purchased a 6cyl Convertible that is 03C and it has a sway bar.
-
The bushingsn
are rotting on the front sway bar of my 68.
What size sway bar and brand is best for replacement of the entire thing.
Thanks

So, sorting things like I always do.....
plant eng swaybar
08D LOS 250 no
02A LOS 250 no
03C yes
04A 250 yes
I have to say this is surprising. GM said only the 230 didn't have the swaybar in 67.
The swaybar bushings are readily available from most suppliers in rubber (original) and urethane.

May be all convertibles got swaybar?
-
Good point. I tend to think it didn't depend on body type, but I have no idea. Adding that into the mix shows we really need more data. :)
plant eng swaybar
08D LOS 250 cpe no
02A LOS 250 no
03C cvt yes
04A NOR 250 cvt yes
*updated*

My 04A cvt was NOR built, just to add more data
-
Just to add to the list..
08E Nor L6 Coupe no sway bar
-
plant eng swaybar
08A NOR ?? coupe no
08D LOS 250 coupe no
08E NOR ?? coupe no
02A LOS 250 no
03C convt yes
04A NOR 250 convt yes
05D NOR 230 coupe yes
I added some more data. Not a lot to go on, but it looks like it could be a time-based change.

Just add to the list.
05C NOR CVT 250 with sway bar (11/16")
