Title: 69 Cowl Hood Alignment ??????????
Post by: 69X55SS on April 24, 2006, 02:51:37 AM
Doors to Rocker gaps are perfect. Fender to door gaps are perfect. Hood to fender gaps are perfect and equal both sides. Upper valance is aligned perfect with fenders. Hinges are original with NOS GM SS springs.

Now for the cowl hood ....... Left rear corner of hood is 1/4 inch below fender, Right rear is level with fender. Left front corner of hood has perfect gap with upper valance, Right front corner of hood has 5/8 inch gap with upper valance.

Just put it on and haven't started to play with anything yet, anybody have and tips or tricks on where to start ?

Thank You

"MARTINSR" has an excellent post (I think it's a "sticky" now) in the Body Shop section at Team Camaro (www.camaros.net) that deals with front sheet metal fitting, especially hoods. Check it out.

Try raising the rear of the left hood hinge.  You may have to lower the front of same hinge, but do that last.  Dave
