Thanks guys for finally getting a specific 6cyl discusssion area underway.
I have a early 67 production 6cyl coupe with a 250 & 2spd auto. I hope somebody may be able to assist in helping me understand why this car appears to have the wrong front springs in it from new (based on AIM information)
The springs in the car are YZ
All help is appreciated.
Regards
Alastair

Alastair,
Your springs are listed as correct for a 6 cyl.
Here is a link for you to read.

Thanks for the link Ken.
I still think that they are incorrect as my vehicle has CAC (K19) therefore it should have YN springs not the YZ. I guess it could be that somebody just picked up the wrong ones on the assembly line.
Thanks

Ken. Do you have a link for the same information but for 1968? Thanks, Joe.

What CRG has on spring usage on all the years of First Gens is here:

You have to look at more than one link for 68.

Yes the 6cyl with C.A.C. is another beast, YN would be correct for you Alastair assuming you have a coupe, the convertible has another # again.

Yes you do have a coupe Alastair. :)

But CAC is not K19.
CAC = air conditioning
K19 = smog.

AHHHH. I guess that will teach me for making assumptions. Thanks for the clarification.
