Title: Turbo 400 for '68 396 w/325 hp where . .
Post by: opelitis1 on March 07, 2010, 01:09:28 PM
Got a call from a friend who says he has the T400 for my 396/325hp 1968 Camaro engine..
Where on the tranny would I spot the VIN or partial VIN to be sure it is correct for my setup??
Do not believe my Bud would pull the wool over me eyes, but, I have to be sure..
Thanks in advance.
Ted

Did a Search and came out with a metal tag on the psgr side of the case.. If the tag is not there, would there be another place(s) to come out with an identifier specific to my engine??
Thanks!
Ted

i have the same trans in my 68 l35 rsss and i looked at the tag and did not see the vin#. but it did have a little info on the build date. i dont think the turbo trans have the vin stamped like the manuals did but i could be wrong.
