I still have my original ball joints. I'm sure many others do too. They are rivited.
-
I am also curious where to get original style front end rebuild kits. I am in the process of rebuilding my subframe and front end and wonder what kit is most original. any suggestions?
-
I talked to Jim at Heartbeatcity.he said he has original type ball joints that will use rivets.MADE IN TURKEY??????????? I think I will pass.if my well falls over because of the ball joint.that wont be cool :'( I might just use ac delco stuff and see how it goes.

Thanks, I see many companies that sell complete rebuild kits for front ends. My guess is that any of them could be riveted instead of bolted, I could be wrong though. I would like to buy a full rebuild kit that has the proper look of original. Anyone use a kit that looked correct regardless of rivets? Can you buy the rivets seperately?

You might want to talk to Brian at Bair's in Linesville, PA, (814) 683-4223; they have been riveting '63-'82 Corvette upper and lower ball joints for decades, and may have a line on where to get ball joints with the rivet-sized holes in them.

I called Bairs, the ball joints that they use are made by Dana.he couldnt help for Camaro ball joints. :(

Has anybody had any luck with the complete kits like classic industries, Kanter, etc? Any suggestions as to which looks most like original? I realize they are bolt on ball joints but I want to rebuild my complete front suspension and subframe and none of my research has yielded a preferred brand.

TRW and Moog are 2 of the more popular suspension component companies, their products are good quality. You may find that some of the chassis mount bushings are still available from GM. ;)

moog bushings also makes a replacement

Heres an ancient discussion on Yenkos.net about riveted ball Joints, sizes of the rivets and heads, suppliers etc.
