Title: TH400 conversion question
Post by: tom67 on March 02, 2010, 01:30:06 AM
I'm new to the site, I have a question about my conversion to a TH400 in my 67. I have a 350 with a 153 tooth flex plate, a non staggered stock style high torque starter. The converter cover I bought is for a 67-69 TH400, but the slot in the cover for the starter is about 1/2" too far outboard. What converter cover do I need to find to make this combination work?

You either need to change the flywheel and starter to the 168 tooth set up or change to a TH350 converter. You could also go with an after market higher stall converter which will be a smaller diameter.
