How's Z/28 VIN #516355 build 10B? 160 apart. Yours started on Friday, mine on Monday maybe? Garnet red, RS, black std interior. White stripes and vinyl top.

You're missing a digit between the "7" and the "L".

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but if rua69z's trim tag and VIN correspond to mine as we think, 160 VIN's apart, then my car more than likely was started on Monday of week 2 (10B), which would have been October 7th '68, and his was more than likely started Friday of week 1 (10A) October 4 '68. Or at least within a few days of these dates?

I've heard nothing else. What is the body number on your trim plate? Mine is NOR122144. I'll bet yours is in a range close to this as well.

Yup, your cars are at the transition between weeks. And they were working most Saturdays, btw.
You both have the same trans date. Jim S, what's your axle code?
Thanks!

Interesting, Thanks Kurt.

Both cars were built within a day or so of each other, so the numbers should be close as they are. I'll bet we could compare any of the original parts from the 2 cars and the dates would be close. Some might even be the same. What's your distributor date?

At Nationals a couple of years ago, I discovered a car that was different from my VIN by 40. Exact same model, exact same options. We are pretty sure they were build on the same day in the third week of December, 1969. Is was great fun to discover this!

Exactly. The part / sheetmetal dates should be close or the same....

I have a question regarding the body number on this car compared to my Van Nuys built 69. 124379L524755 built 02c and is VN264129. Seems along way off.

Pretty normal for 69. It's the number assigned when the order was accepted by the factory.
Your car took a little bit longer to get on the build schedule...
What are the colors and what engine?
-
Thanks for the info. My car is: TR 725 57 57 PNT engine V0212DZ BIll

Same colors as JohnZ's 02D Z!
