Title: 327 crankshaft
Post by: pjbizjak on January 23, 2010, 02:56:08 AM
Did Chevrolet make a 327 in 1968 with a large journal crank? Casting # 3914678. I found a 327 on E-bay with that casting number but stamped vin says it was from "J" plant.

Yes, this block is a 327cid/250hp V8 out of a '68 Passenger car...

My concern was the crank (#3911001) weather it was a lg or sml journal. A lot of web sites have conflicting reports. EBay # 2705185634825

The 3911001 crankshaft is a large journal crank.  Is the above item # correct?  It comes up...  "This listing (2705185634825) has been removed, or this item is not available."

Both sellers have obviously taken "eBay Marketing 101" - neither block has anything to do with a Z/28 - they're out of full-size (Impala/Caprice) built at Janesville, Wisconsin.

However the 3914678 block was used for 302, 327 & 350 assemblies. Just different goodies inside.
