Title: 1st generation 68 z/28 distributor
Post by: pjbizjak on January 23, 2010, 01:00:46 AM
If I can't find an origional Z/28 distributor # 1111467  what would be my next choice? A 67 Z/28 distributor #1111266 or a 69 Z/28 # 1111480, keeping in mind that I'm trying to stick as close to origional as I can. Or does anyone have a lead on a 1111467?

What's the build date of your car?  Early '68 Z28s got the 1111266 distributor, mine included.  The problem is, finding an original 266 distributor is almost impossible!  You'll have a better chance finding a 467.

Paul:

I think you meant to say "finding an original 266 distributor is almost impossible and even if you do it will cost a small fortune"...

I don't peruse Fleabay much at all to have any idea how rarely they do come up - what they are up to these days now when they do materialize?

I would give Jerry MacNeish a call. He seems to come across them and you can be sure they are real and ready to use.
