Need help in de-coding PowerGlide pan pls..
Number is as follows: C3M 23D.

Are you sure the 3 is a 3 and not an 8? That number denotes the year of manufacture. Has to be either 1963 or 1973 and the problem is that I'm not sure the P'glides were date coded in '63 and I'm pretty sure they were out of production by '73.

My guess is:
C = Cleveland, OH plant
3 = 1963; if it is an 8 = 1968
M = August
23 = 23rd day of the month
D = day shift

Good morning Rich. Double checked the pan and it looks really like a 3.. Funny thing is the first 3 punch does not look like the second number 3 .. Can take pic if that'll help.
