Title: Dealer optioned 67 Camaro
Post by: monaroman on December 26, 2009, 12:01:04 AM

Hi there,

Can i have some advice please regarding dealer optioned 67 Camaro's

What would be the key specific information people would look for in proving dealer optioned 67 Camaro's

e.g POP, build sheet etc.

Cheers for your time.

POP and build sheets are not genterated from the dealer.

Perhaps a vinyl top, radio would be dealer installed options. There are posts on this board that discuss dealer installed radios. Search for dealer installed radios for more info.

Hi there,

Oops perhaps i did not write the question too well.

At present i am interested in a  1967 Camaro that was specially ordered by a local dealer in 1967.

A  gentleman in 1967 was a local car dealer he ordered a Camaro from the L.A manufacturing plant and wanted very specific options on the Camaro as the Trim tag highlights.

What documentation would be with the Camaro to this day to prove the above is correct other then the information on the Trim tag.

Does that make sense (sorry way too much food and drink i think)

Copy of the original dealer order form, broadcast copy (may be on top of the gas tank on an L.A. car), original window sticker, Car Shipper form, P-O-P, dealer wholesale invoice, etc.

Hi there,

Excellent thank you.

I beleive the vehicle is a LA plant Camaro.

So the main paper trail would include dealer order form, POP, build sheet, car invoice

Is this correct.

you need to REPHRASE your question nobody understands what you are asking , after reading your post on here and on TC you need to ask CAN SOMEONE DECODE FACTORY INSTALLED OPTION'S like that , all the option's on the car invoice and on the trim tag are options that were installed at the factory , dealer installed options would be noted on the bottom of the car invoice under DEALER INSTALLED OPTION'S stuff like bumper guards / radio related items and so on could have been added to a car before it was sold ,

Hi there Brad,

It took me ages to phrase what i posted. Its been a big year and i think my head was a little fuzzy from christmas drinks.

I have worked out the options, i just wanted to know the paper trail involved of which im starting to understand for instance car invoice, trim tag etc.

Ok lets try this. Its 1967 and i want to order a Camaro with specific options how would i go about it.

Does that read a little better?

Cheers for your help guy's.

You'd start by going to your Chevy dealer, telling the salesman what you want, and he'd fill out an order form and submit it; then you'd wait 4-8 weeks for the car to be delivered.

Hi there John,

Great work

So Camaro ordering form (via dealer), payment of money, car invoice, delivery of car, owners manual, P-O-P

Im looking at a 67 Camaro that was ordered by a Chevrolet dealer in Salt lake City for a citizen.

There seem's to be good documentation with this vehicle to prove the car.

I have asked the owner for permission to show the documentaion that comes with the Camaro.

Who would you recommend i show the paper work trail to?

Cheers.

 Dare I asK??

We all know what the car is now and I imagine that a lot of the members on this site are asking what is actually behind the initial posts of this car?
Are you buying the car, is it for sale and/or have you been trying to determine the vehicle's originality before purchasing etc?
We would assume that it is a matching numbers deal?
Nicely optioned car and one of many good cars to be imported into Australia in the the 60's.

Good luck with it!
 ;)

Hi there,

What should be the Transmission code on this vehicle's trim tag.

Cheers.

trim tag has no transmission letter in section 2 ? if it was a powerglide it would be M or muncie 4 speed it would be L
I don't think I've ever seen one with no transmission listed ?

Its a HD 3 speed manual transmission, the default transmission, if you didn't select a 4 speed, or an auto transmission both of which were options.

No designation was used for the TH400 auto transmission at the time this car was built. At NOR they eventually started using a "Z" for TH400 and at LOS they eventually went with "M" for both powerglide and TH400. Correct me if I'm wrong here but this car was fitted with a TH400 automatic.

Yup, the TH400 became available when the 396 was introduced.

Hi Guy's

I have been reading up on some of the options on this Camaro.

I beleive the L35 was a option in LATE 67 not EARLY 67

Can any give a specific month in late 67 the L35 was made available please.

Cheers.

I have a question about the Camaro Order Form further up this thread. In the transmission section it lists the Powerglide, 4 speed wide ratio and 3 speed transmissions. It doesn't mention the close ratio 4 speed transmission. Just curious. Joe.

Sounds like you're researching via a book. Those are 'made-up' terms that GM did not use.
See http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#CowlTag.

Hi Kurt,

Cheers for your response.

Correct i have 3 to 4 Camaro references, hence sometimes with some information it can get a little confusing.
