Title: 69 Z power brake tag on power brake vacuum hose
Post by: sixt9x33rs on December 15, 2009, 12:06:39 PM
Did the 69 have the "CU" cardboard tag that hung on the vacuum hose from the power brake booster to the manifold, or was that just a 68 item?

Thanks John.
Is that picture from your car? Is that hose clamp correct for '69. I noticed the "mickey mouse ears" on the clamp and thought about the style clamps that are correct for a 67 Corvette per the Technical Information and Judging Guide, and wondered if the Corvette style clamps would be correct for this application.

Those spring clamps weren't exclusive to the Corvette - they were used on all Chevrolet car lines; that clamp was on the car when I bought it, but it should have the sharp, square "ears", not the one in the photo with rounded "ears". I don't remember when the ears changed, but I think it was after 1969.

I believe that I have the same or similar clamp holding the short flexible fuel line running to the fuel pump to the metal fuel line from the gas tank.

I have the square "ear" clamps on my fuel lines. I just cleaned and reused them when I painted and cleaned up my car.

The spring clamps on the rubber fuel lines are a smaller size, and are green.

Ok I was wondering if those were the same clamps and if the color was the same. The black sure looks better than the green.
