Title: 67 CAMARO REAR WINDOW DEFOST SWITCH
Post by: OBIWAN2T on December 07, 2009, 06:51:57 PM
Hi guys,

Does anyone have a pic of a rear window defroster switch for a 67 camaro ?  I have the switch but I believe it is supposed to have a bezel of some type that goes on the outside of the dash. Any help would be most appreciated.

Its a round knurled knob that sticks out vertically of the bottom lip of the dash panel to the left of the steering column.  It has no bezel, just a jam nut that holds it to the dash.  The knob in a 68 is chrome, not sure if a 67 is the same, the switch rotates, one click for slow, two for fast.

I also need the exact placement of the switch if the dealer installed it instead of the factory.Would it be in the same place?

Thanks Mark,

I figured it had some type of bezel like goes around the light switch  so it would blend in with the other switches. Especially since the knob on the switch itself looks just like the light switch & wiper switch. But just a jam nut huh? Thanks again !

It uses the existing holes in the lower instrument panel reinforcement for the convertible top switch; when installed, only the chrome knob shows below the panel. See the '67 Assembly Manual, section C50, sheet A1.
