Title: What is the correct finish on these fasteners please?
Post by: BlackoutSteve on November 25, 2009, 07:53:38 AM
1969 Camaro.
Screws that fasten the heater control panel in place. 3923905 UPC1 M5..
as well as the speedo, tach and center fuel gauge lenses.. (center fuel gauge is 3849634 RPO U17 A1)

www.amkproducts.com catalog shows them only in stainless. (2010 catalog Pg 81)
I thought they were painted black. Which is OE ?

Mine has never been touched, and all of those bezel/cluster/heater control screws are black phosphate.

Thanks John & Mark.. ;D

Mark, the AIM doesn't show the speedo & tach screws because I think those gauges in the instrument panel were already an assembly on the production line.. So I used the center fuel gauge numbers. I would assume they are all the same. ..I hope.

AMK only sell the 3849634 in stainless. (B-11117 pg 81). That's fine. I'll paint them unless thier S15 finish is a black finish. The pic almost looks like they're black.
