Title: 2010 427 Camaro
Post by: Big_Al on November 24, 2009, 06:07:57 PM
Has anyone seen this?: http://www.denooyerchevrolet.com/ou/colonie-chevrolet/console.do?page=f_search&type=new&contentid=Denooyer-N&run=true&year=2010&make=Chevrolet&model=Camaro

I can't get a link to the direct page but half way down this inventory list page click on the 'DeNooyer Performance' red 2SS 7.0l pic.

They claim to be the only dealership in the country doing this.

You need to educate yourself about the economics of building cars - there's FAR more value in the parts than there is in final assembly labor, and most of the Camaro parts come from the U.S. The Camaro is built in Canada due to GM-CAW agreements negotiated when the prior Camaro plant (Ste. Therese, Quebec) was closed; "corporate greed" has nothing to do with it. Your last sentence is a clear indicator of how uninformed/misinformed you are on the issues.

Well said John.
I've read of Canada keeping great records of first gens shipped there and wonder if their better record keeping will apply to production as well. It would be a great plus to benefit future collectors.

john we are talking about an american icon that is not being buillt here.is that not wrong? the car and its engine are being built in canada and if goverment motors is like the other american manufacturers of automobles the parts come from mexico and china to save money..all of my vehicles were built in the USA a 67 and 2 68 camaros all from ohio, toyota tacoma (indiana),toyota camry(kentucky) .it sounds like you are one of the same people that thought NAFTA CAFTA was a good idea for the USA seeing how our unemployment rate is at 10.2 percent.

I'm gonna get beat up for this, but it's true. When cost of labor makes product too expensive to compete, "corporate greed" will find less expensive means to generate product, or they will go out of business. My old job went to India years ago.
