Title: Hood Latch Assembly and Spring

I was reading the thread (above). To be sure, is the entire hood latch assembly, top and bottom painted a dark gray phosphate and just the spring itself is gloss black?

Actually it's not "painted" phosphate but I'm sure you understand. Spring is black. There is a discrepancy in the dichromate data as stated in the second link.

Nope, one can definitely not paint phosphate. That answers it, thanks.

It's a plating process.  We do it in house here at CHP.  Just did some hinges and stuff for Jon Mello and Martin at CRG.
