Title: Original 67 Block
Post by: MyRed67 on October 23, 2009, 05:35:03 AM
If I read your report on 67 Engine pad stampings correctly, mostly only Z/28 and SS 350 Blocks recieved a partial VIN.  Is that correct?  I am pretty sure I have the original engine, but became a little alarmed when I started reading about a partial VIN, and mine doesn't have one.   My car is an 11A built LOS stadard V8 coupe, 327 2 bbl. w/Powerglide.   It has 3892627 Engine casting, the Engine pad reads V1026ME, if I am decoding this correctly.  It was built at the Flint,MI. plant- (V) 10 -(10 th mon.) 26 -(day) ME (327/210 hp w/Powerglide)  The Block has a casting date on it of J 17 6, I decode as (Oct. 17 -66).  Is this correct?  Thanks!

Almost, '67 big block engines had the partial VIN's stamped too.

Correct.
