Title: L30/M20, ...2nd chance, ...do you think it's worth $1500
Post by: KevinK on April 01, 2006, 09:57:42 PM
... well it's up for sale again.
Some may remember I had taken some photos of a '67  L30/M20 RS,

  http://community.webshots.com/myphotos?action=viewAllPhotos&albumID=254439242

...well I just received a call today from the guy who purchased it about a year ago, ...and it's for sale, ...he wants what he paid for it, ...$1500. I don't even know if I want to get involved in it, but would the rear (ie. 67 w/traction bar) be worth $1200 itself?

   ...So what do you think?

...non original motor, but date matching trans and rear, ..sheet metal is shot.

If anyone would be seriously interested in this car, please email me directly at kevink7@hotmail.com, ...and I possibly could put you in touch with the seller.

  Thanks,
            Kevin

Where is the car located?

Does the motor run?

Think about it... even if the body is shot... IF YOU WILLING TO PUT UP WITH THE HASSLE, the motor, transmission, rear end and any other parts you salvaged could net twice or three times that.  Then, there's the whole restoration issue.
You're already asking the real question:  Do you want to get involved?

You could certainly be doing the hobby a favor!

a 67 posi rear end with traction bar is well worth 1200.

...I left the guy with a $1000 offer on Saturday.
...got home today and there was a phone message for me to call him.

I'll know tomorrow, ...but as has been said, ...the parts alone, etc. are worth 1K.
...The other issue (with these Dynacor bodies available), ...the car may be worth restoring to the right person. I've got too many other projects going on, but for a $1000 bucks, ...I'll grab it and go from there...

  I'll keep you posted...

Wow!
Too bad about the RUST. It's not everyday you find a fairly complete unrestored first gen Camaro. I'm sure you did fine on the purchase price. What I'm wondering is why the car looks to be correct as an RS with a 327 yet the cowl tag has a 4P. Doesn't that denote SS 350? Also, my two cents would be to somehow restore that thing with a plain jane donor or something. There are too many clones in this world! Good luck, Dan

The L30/M20 also received the 4P code since it was the unofficial SS327.
