I am putting in a new dash. I have the wood wheel and radio delete plate. Does the wood grain belong on the lower left of the dash by the wiper switch?
-
I think it depends on if you car came with RPO Z23 package. That would include wood grained accents on instrument panel and steering wheel, asssist grip and pedal trim.
-
If it has a console, it also gets the wood trim by the wiper switch and on the radio side. Three things triggered those two wood trim pieces - Z23, D55 console, or Z87 deluxe interior.
-
Do you know what Wood trim parts are used on a Z23 interior WITHOUT D55 console?
1969 Z/28
Thanks

See the chart for Z23 at http://www.camaros.org/options.shtml#CustomSpecialInterior ; Z23 all by itself (without the D55 console) got the assist grip, bright pedal trim, and wood-grain accents on the steering wheel shroud and on both sides of the lower portion of the instrument cluster.

Thanks! One more question. Would the black Z23 option show on the Cowl Tag as 711 or 712?

The Z23 option was unrelated to colors, and wasn't shown on the '69 trim tags; all that showed on the trim tag was the interior trim combination number (color and level - standard or deluxe).

Didn't Z23 specify special interior trim with comfort weave vynl seats and molded door panels?

Nope, that was the RPO Z87 deluxe interior, which included the Z23 items plus the Comfortweave seats, molded door panels, wood-grain all across the passenger side of the dash, trunk mat, hood insulator pad, etc. The Z87 deluxe interior carried a different trim combination number than the same color standard interior on the cowl tag, so you can tell by the trim number whether or not the car originally had a standard or deluxe interior.
