Hi all.
I have a 1967 convertible.
I did a front wheel alignment and everything worked out fine except one thing. They could not align the front with the rear exactly. There was a small error but we decide there was nothing to do about it and let it go.
Well, now a couple months later I got the idea to make a small measure between the wheel side and the fender and found out that the distance was bigger on the passanger side, see image.
I need advice how to correct it. Can the body mount bushings make this error or is there a play to adjust the body related to the front subframe? When I check the gaps between hood, front and fenders it all looks OK.

You need to check the front subframe alignment.
There are 2 holes in the frame under the firewall used for aligning the frame ; one on each side, put a screwdriver through the hole and it should meet up directly with an alignment hole in the body above it. Hopefully, I explained this clear enough.
If they don't line up, you have an issue.

The alignment holes may or may not verify correct subframe to body dimensions. If the locating holes are dead on the geometry of the subframe/shell can still be off. After the initial subframe to body locating holes are checked; diagonal measurements confirm squareness. These are taken from "constants" on the subrame and shell. Same principle when yanking any car, whether its unibody or full frame. And you might want to check that your rear end is located properly as well.
