I have a book titled The Great Camaro. It is by Michael Lamm. It goes in to detail, the design and production of the Camaro, starting in 1964 with the Super Nova. It has lots of pictures, drawings and clay models of the Camaro. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this book.

I have a first edition, first printing dated October 1978. It may be the 1st Camaro book I acquired and still rates as one of the best. There are a few inaccuracies in it but the "insider" photos and history of the development of the 1st gen Camaro still cannot be found anywhere else.
I believe he also did a Firebird book.
Every 1st Gen fan needs this book!

I have the fourth printing, dated January 1981. It is a great book! I would recommend it to all Camaro enthusiasts.

I have a first edition that I got in 1978. I had owned Z-28's since 1972, and was amazed by all the info in the book. There wasn't a huge amount of info available at that time. No internet etc., I had a few poeple across the country that I conversed with, mostly all word of mouth.

I have had this book for many years and it is still good to read.
Also remember back in the old school days when pretty much all there was for info was Hemmings Motor News and you met people there through the ads and writing letters and phone.

And swap meets when every "pristine" part wasn't worth a small or large fortune.

He people, this book is at Amazon.com right now, new for $49. They also have 13 used starting at $4.45 on up to over $100. This is as of 11:55am on Thursday July 9th.
Good Luck....
Speaking of books, I was talked into paying $100 years ago for a copy of " Camaro" 1967- 1969 Fact Book by M.F. Dobbins and F.J.R. Incremona. I have since seen them go for $150 and $200. It has a 69 Pace car on the cover on a lawn with some brush behind it. No pace car decal's. It is dated 1984. 237 pages ...What's the scoop with this book? Anybody know how accurate it is, and why I paid so much...ha ha I have looked it over and it seems it has some mistakes here and there compared to current data....YES? Or is it just me and everything is accurate? I was told it is very hard to find and out of print for many years. Here is a picture of it. However it's not for sale........Danny

I have seen Camaro by Dobbins but never wanted to spend $125 or upwards for it without ever hearing a review of it. It is still hard to find and is now going for over $150 the last I saw it. That equals too many parts for me to justify unless someone says it is outstanding.
Any one else read it before?

Yes. It's an old book, but still an outstanding reference. Especially the hundreds of outstanding, original photos. Did I mention it's OUTSTANDING? :)

Wow, and there ya have it. I don't feel too bad now. I really like the book, it's just that I always wonder when they take the pictures, if they check-out the car first for originality. Or just take some oldtimers word for it. Well it looks like the newer version has lot's more info. Going to have to get it coming.......Danny
