Title: 1969 camaro 3927184 intake
Post by: ljandert on June 27, 2009, 01:27:15 PM
I have a 3927184 quadrajet intake manifold that most people think fit on a 69 camaro.  This intake has an oil fill tube and it has the generator/alternator bracked mount on the left front which should be pre 69.  The date code on the intake is D 6 0.  I'm confused because all I see on the web is that this intake is for a 69 only but the item s I've mentioned show it to be pre 69.  Help.

D 6 0 date makes it a 1970 intake. OR a 1960 but no Q-jets in 60 so it has to be a 70. anyway. A TRUCK intake.
Could the "0" be an "8" ?

Thanks, Gary.  One of my books has this intake as being made for 1968 only and another says its 1969.  It could possibly be an 8 but it looks like a 0.  They supposedly stopped putting the oill fill tube on the intake in 1969.  Could it be possible they continued them on the trucks.

Based on the date it would probably be service replacement manifold. It would apply to a variety of applications.

Fill tubes can be added at any time. The '69 Z/28 manifold had a soft plug where the fill tube would have been installed but they never used the hole for anything.
