I have a couple questions about the use of original '69 AM/FM radios. I understand they were only installed with a front fender antenna, presumably for good reception. I have the RPO U73 rear antenna on my car and was wondering if a booster is available to make this setup work, if indeed it would. Was it just a problem with distant or all reception that prevented this combination?

?
Hasn't anyone with the U37 rear antenna ever attempted to switch to a '69 AM/FM radio?
Just wondering if it would work as is and if not is there any way to make it work?
If reception wasn't a problem was there another reason why this combo wasn't offered?

I guess I'm the only one curious about using a '69 AM/FM radio with a rear antenna. ???
Can anyone suggest a site with 60's radio knowledge?

Thanks Joe, it was getting a little lonely on this thread. :(
Welcome!!!!!
Is your AM/FM radio a new aftermarket item or an original offered in the 60's? I've got a chance to buy a '69 Camaro AM/FM radio but don't want to get stuck with lousy reception.

It's just the stock am/fm...Joe

That's good to hear Joe. The stock AM/FM is still for sale and not too $$$ so I'll give it a try.
Thanks,
