Title: 69 motor mounts/frame mounts
Post by: VStock on June 22, 2009, 01:35:11 PM
Hi! I'm new to the forum and have a question. I have a 69 that had a 350 in it and I'm planning on putting a 230 in it.  Are the frame brackets for the motor mounts the same, or do I need to find some 6 cylinder frame brackets?

You need them from a 6-cylinder car. Other items you will need to change during the swap are: throttle rod linkage, the 6-cyl models used a cable in 69, also the fan shroud will need to be changed, but you could modify a small block one to work as the 6-cyl shroud is very hard to find. Why are you changing to a 6-cylincer from a V8? Any particular reason you are not using the 250 instead of the 230? ...................RatPack...............

I am building the car with a 230 to run in NHRA class V/Stock. This is 22 lbs/horsepower, 4 or 6 cylinders only.
