Title: black sill painting
Post by: 68Tom on June 09, 2009, 08:30:28 PM
Hi--

I have read up on black sill application and location here on CRG.  However, one topic I'm not 100% sure about, is application of the sill paint on a restored car.

While I would love to go single-stage urethane on my restoration, I've been told this isn't a good idea with any of the metallics (going with Frost Green), and hence will probably use a CC/BC application.  Therefore, how is the stripe applied?  Is it applied AFTER the clear coat goes on?  It seems as if there'd be adhesion problems if this was done.  Therefore, do you clear over the black?

I'm really going for an original looking car here, so any opinions out there would be great.

Thanks.
