Anyone know the original PN for the u-joint in a 68 with M20? Also what it changed to through the years?
I had 7806140 in my notes but that joint is HUGE compared to what's on the car...could you let me what the heck that number is for too???
Thanks!

A quick google search answers your mystery #
GM 350/400/700-R4 Powerglide U-Joint,1.125 bearing diameter
Can't help you yet on the GM # but I'm sure the numbers members can.

7806140 Is correct per the 1981 chev models thru 75 catalog. Frt and rr.

Is that still available?

Is that still available?
Probably, but if it follows the current pattern, the GM price will be six times the price of exactly the same U-joint made by Spicer (who makes them for GM); I'd price it at a Spicer dealer before going to GM for it.

If it is it will look NOTHING like the one originall installed in 68. Cross shaft will most likely be solid with no depression and have a zerk fitting. I've ordered Precision and AC Delco service replacements and opened both boxes at the counter only to find the EXACT same joint in the box, numbers, stampings, exact. Delco replacement was twice the price.
So nobody knows the GM PN for 68 with M20???????
