I Have looked at a 68 rs ss, does not have original engine ,350 car, but is suppose to have everything else oringinal, power steering, power windows, a/c,tilt body is needs a drivers 1/4 and has 1 quarter size surface rust on 1 fender, floor pans are good, it needs all door panels, console, and of course a new top, can someone tell me if this car is worth 15k

4-speed or auto? 12 bolt rearend? any photos?

If you are serious, contact an appraiser like Jerry.
If you are just asking, then look on Ebay, etc. for a similar car. Or Gold Book for a range of round figures.
As Danny alluded to, it's hard to value a car without at least photos, matching numbers, complete list of options, location, etc. etc. etc.....

And there are a lot cars on the market that are not whzat they claim to be. Pay for a plain jane, or contact an expert appraiser.

the car is 350turbo, 12 bolt, im pretty sure the car is a oringinal rs/ss because it still has oriniginal paint it would be hard to change the badges and that not show, its loaded ac, power windows, ps, power top it has been sitting inside for 15 years,i cant get pictures because its between 4 other cars in a barn, i look at junk piles on ebay with no options fo 6 to 10 k , i see running cars not restored cars going for 25 to 30k , i feel i can paint and get it running for 20k so its not but 5k differece and everything will be new . im just wanting some opinions of price im sure someone out there has bought a car at some point to restore.

Don't go by looks... Go by numbers... matching numbers, correct dates, etc.
If you can do all the restoration yourself for $5K, sounds like a bargain....

i was under the impression the only true way to tell a true ss is by the engine serial # so if the engine is not there what other # can i look at,but if its not a ss/rs with all those options does it hurt the value that much, and to clear up things the restoration will cost 20k, total of 35k i will have in the car when completed
