Title: EC suffix code
Post by: dab67 on March 19, 2006, 04:47:40 PM
??? I have been communicating with a person that has a 3892657 casting numbered v8 for sale. The confusion is this, on the front pad he states the engine code stamping is V0104EC. Which I see as being either a '57 283 or a '65-66 327. Am I missing something or what? I thought the 2657 was produced only in 1967 for the 302, 327 and 350.

The 3892657 was used in 1967 in a 302, 327 and 350 configuration. The V0104EC shows this engine was originally built at the Flint Engine Plant on January 4th, 1967 and used in a 1967 Chevelle 327/275 with A.I.R and Powerglide.

Hope this helps...

Bert:

I see the code for a 66 Chevelle but not for a 67. So I have to be missing something in my research files.
