I recently purchased a 68 Camaro Z-28 and am in the process of restoring it...i want to paint it the original color and here comes my question. The paint code is N 2 which i believe is Cordovan Maroon with a black vinyl top...the question is if i look at the paint code in CRG it says Cordovan maroon with a white stripe.....i can't believe they would put white stripes and then a black vinyl top????? It also says that there are 3 execeptions but it only lists one....HELP!!!

This color and black vinyl top would be correct with white stripes. Also called out in my 67-68 Z28 Camaro fact book on page 125.
Installing black stripes on a maroon car would have no contrast to this color combination.

Thanks Jerry,
I've read about you and if anyone would i guess you would be the one!! Don't suppose you have any pics of this color combo with a Blk Vinyl top....sounds kinda goofy to me but maybe it would look good.
Thanks again,
Steve

I'm not sure where you see that there's 3 stripe exceptions.
There's only one in 68 - footnote #2 for Matador Red.
Black stripes on a dark color like that would not be visible. Might look cool, but the factory did the stripes in white.

I like the color combo.

Black on Sequoia Green don't stand out very well either...
