Title: 68 rocker molding trim clips
Post by: tinman75 on April 08, 2009, 12:04:30 AM
Anyone ever find a good original style lower rocker molding clip for a 68? It look like the repops are junk. Or does someone have a few originals laying around. Dont need a complete set.

Are you talking about the ones for the Rally Sport moldings? The standard ones are just like originals. The repros for the RS moldings are very hard to work with, but they do work. I have used others that require a nut to hold them on from the backside for the ones on the doors and quarter panels. If I can find the Auveco part number I will post it later tomorrow along with a picture of the clip..............RatPack.............

Okay, I just found out today that the clips I have been using are no longer available, but the Auveco clip shown in the picture will work. The clips I had a stash of were made by a company called JOBCO, and they have not made these clips in about 8 years. However, I did find a company that can reproduce them, but I do not know what the cost will be. I had some of the Auveco clips in the bins, and I installed it on a spare molding to see how it fit. No big difference than the JOBCO other than it not having a foam seal which can be easily made. Check with any Auveco dealer for part #2619 for individual clips, or for a box of 25 #12958. These will work just fine. Be sure to use a "washer lock nut" to install them, and the Auveco number for those are 2558. I will post pictures of the other clips on the next reply...........I hope this helps...................RatPack.........................

Hi Guys,  I know this is an old topic but I want to know what the original 68 RS molding clips look like and the pics above are no longer available to be viewed. Can anyone repost an original clip please?
