Is there a right way and a wrong way to designate SS/RS or RS/SS?
Trying to keep with the "standard",

Tony, here's the order CRG list them... http://www.camaros.org/geninfo.shtml#MajorOptions
However, I personally like it the other way... RS/SS or RS/Z28. It's alphabetically correct and it sounds better saying "Rally Sport Z/28" vs "Z/28 Rally Sport". Say it out loud and see for yourself. :)

I completely agree that RS/SS and RS Z28 sound MUCH better. About 20 years ago my brother told me that it was SS/RS when he sold me his wrecked 71 SS/RS 396 Camaro...so it's second nature now.
Thanks!

I've always listed the most important option first... ie.. Z28 or SS is MORE important (to me and to most) than the fact that it has the RS option....
-
Do you have a rally sport equipped Z28 (RS/Z28) or a Z28 equipped RS (Z28/RS)?
Same with a rally sport equipped SS (RS/SS) or an SS equipped Rally sport (SS/RS)?
-
It's SS/RS and Z28/RS. That is the CORRECT way.
But, the other way is what a LOT do-- so what ever makes you happy.

Looking at a lot of the period Ads found in mags of the day. Chev listed the cars as a ,,,,
'Camaro SS with with Ralley Sport equipment' 68 Ad-"Some cars fake it. These make it."
'Camaro SS sport Coupe' 68 Ad-"The resemblenace is more then coincidental" Car clearly has RS option but not mentioned?
'Camaro SS convertable' 69 Ad-"Camaro SS...and friends" Pace car ad,,,Z11 content included RS eqipment...
I think they were more obsessed with convincing prospective Customers that could not swing a Vette that an F body would suffice.
The answer to this question is a matter of preference,,,as I always say,,,any one lucky enough to own a SS/RS, RS/SS, Z28/RS, RS/Z28 is very lucky and way you name it,,

One could go by the listing of the the RPO Code as indicating order of importance: Z22, Z27, Z28.....
-
If that was the case, then the Z11 would be the king. ;D
The RPOs are just codes that are recycled as needed and have no priority over one another. The Z11 code used in 69 was previously applied to the 409 motors in the mid 60's impalas (I think) and it was available for redesignation at the time the Pacecars were being built. There is even a Z11 RPO still active in GMs list or RPOs today (or there was about 2 years ago)

"Order of importance"
When you are involved in a race, do you list the finish order as 1,2,3 or 3,2,1?
20,302 Z28s, 3675 Z11's which one should be worth more
-
OK, where does Z10 and Z87 fit in then?? :)
-
this is like the 69 ZL2 cold air hood/cowl hood (THE PUBLICS NAME FOR IT) , it don't matter what GM or anyone else say's the public named any 67 68 69 camaro with both RS and SS equipment combined an RS/SS and that is just the way it is PERIOD !

If this is the case, the 1968 Z/28 convertible is the top dog! :)

;D ;D ;D :D out of the 3675 Z11's probably only about 5000 of them still exist today , but out of the 20,302 69 Z/28's 125,000 of those are still here ;D ;D

and more are being "discovered" every day

So true!!!!!!

Oh contrare. ;)
If 1,2,3 is correct and low production is correct, then the obvious choice for "King" would be the Z10 with production numbers around 500. ;D :D ;)
