Title: '67 fuel tank question.
Post by: Brandan on February 25, 2009, 03:26:41 PM
If I remember correctly, the assembly manual shows that the filler tube is attached to the tank by being soldered.  My body guy says it is clamped on both ends with the rubber sleeve.  When I did my '69 tank I remembered that the tank came with the filler neck attached.....

What is the correct way to mount the filler neck and be correct?

67-68 models used a filler neck that bolted to the rear body panel and used a 2 in. id. hose to connect the tank to filler neck. 69 filler necks were soldered to the tank.

Your body man is correct on that one! separate filler neck with rubber sleeve and clamps holding it together.   Bill C.
