Title: Cosmolene wrapped bumper
Post by: McKenzieDave on March 12, 2006, 07:38:43 PM
When is the last time anybody has seen this?  It's so cool I don't think i can stand to use it.  No response necessary, I just think it's cool.  Dave

I thought the blue stuff was wax? I have a set of front and rear for a 69 still in the blue coating.  I too am wondering if I should use them or get some rechromed ones and make some $$ :)

I bought new GM bumpers for my 69 back in 1981.  They didn't show up looking like this !

Actually, every gunsmith in the world knows all about cosmolene as a protective coating.

The production-line VE3 bumpers came from the supplier already painted; can't remember if the service parts were just primed or topcoated, but they had a peel-off protective plastic coating on them.
